BrightPay does not currently provide a dedicated payroll processing history log that tracks every action or change made within the payroll system, such as an audit trail of edits or user activities.
However, BrightPay Desktop will timestamp payroll processing actions taken, such as when RPN updates are applied, payslips are finalised, PSRs sent and the response from Revenue.
RPN Audit Log
To check RPN payroll actions, click on the Payroll utility > Update Employees > View RPN update logs
All RPN updates for the tax year that have been downloaded into BrightPay will be displayed.
The RPN data will be displayed for all employees and the date / time the change was applied is also shown. These will be listed in date order, from newest to oldest.
You can print / export / email the RPN update log information by clicking on the icon at the top of the screen.
Alternatively, go to the Employees section > Select an employee from the list > RPN > RPN Update Log.
To view the latest information for a particular employee, click on 'View Current RPN for ......'
The latest RPN update for this employee, including date and time when downloaded, will then be displayed on screen. This can be printed, exported or emailed.
Payslip Audit Log
To check when payslips were opened or finalised, click on the Employees utility > select an employee from the list > Payslips > Payslip Audit Log
A list of when the payslips were opened / finalised will be listed, including dates and timestamps:
PSR Audit Log
To check PSR payroll actions, click on the Payroll utility > Submit to Revenue > View PSR submission logs
All PSRs for the tax year that have been generated in BrightPay and submitted to Revenue will be displayed.
The PSR data with a history of date / time the submission was sent is shown. These will be listed in date order, from newest to oldest.
You can print / export / email the RPN update log information by clicking on the icon at the top of the screen.
To view a particular PSR submission in more detail, select the period and then click on 'Request - X employees' - this will show payroll data that was submitted to Revenue.
